Nadal to play in Australia in front of Open for first time

SYDNEY: World number five Rafael Nadal will play in the Brisbane International one year from now, coordinators said on Wednesday, the first run through the Spaniard has commenced his season in Australia. 

The competition, held in the eastern city of Brisbane in January in front of the Australian Open, was last won by enormous serving Canadian Milos Raonic who vanquished Roger Federer in the last. 

"It will be the first run through in my vocation that I'm going to play in Australia the principal week of the season and I'm truly amped up for it," 14-time Grand Slam champion Nadal said in an announcement. 

"I think this is something I need to do amid my profession and I think in the meantime it will be an awesome planning to be in Australia early." 

The competition's chief Geoff Quinlan said coordinators had been in converses with the 30-year-old for quite a long while and said Nadal would be a major drawcard for fans. 

"This is only the begin of an extremely energizing line-up of players we will report over the coming months," he included. 

The Brisbane International will be held from January 1 to 8 in the number one spot up to the Australian Open.
