The malware influenced 12 Starwood inns, six Marriott International Inc properties, one Hyatt lodging and one InterContinental Hotels Group PLC inn.
It was dynamic from March 1, 2015 to June 21, 2016, with 14 of the inns influenced after Dec 2, 2015, HEI said on its site on Friday.
Marriott and IHG declined to remark. Delegates from the other inn bunches did not react to demands for input.
HEI said outside specialists examined the rupture and discovered that programmers may have stolen client names, account numbers, installment card close dates and check codes.
